Oh the weather outside is frightful…

So it's about 6 bazillion degrees below zero outside today, and the snow just keeps on coming. I am sitting at work, trying to concentrate, but all I want to do is go home and decorate my house for Christmas. I want to make some gingerbread cookies and some hot chocolate, put on some Christmas music, and make my house look all festive and bright.

I know, I know. It's not even December yet. But it's snowing and beautiful outside! Airdrie had it's Santa Claus parade on Saturday, and the Festival of Lights has already started in the big park in the middle of the city. Come on -- can't I just put up my Christmas tree? How about a wreath on my front door?

Okay, okay. I guess I can wait one more week. But in the meantime, do what I did and have fun making yourself into a South Park character!

Dec 1, the decorations come up, regardless of the weather.

And the first Sat of the month, up goes the tree. If the hubs won't get me one, I go get it myself.

After all, I'm an independent woman.

I am just dying to do some decorating, but am trying to hold off so I dont burn out of xmas spirit before xmas. Although in all honesty I've already baked a couple batches of sugar cookies. Our tree goes up dec.1st, regardless. But hubby has to go chop one down.

Ha! My tree is up, but not decorated yet. I just wanted to get the pets and kids used to the idea of a tree in the house because I put glass balls on it LOL

OK - I used to be the one with the cards out by Dec. 1 and the tree up immediately after the beginning of Dec. I'm sad to say this year I may not even have time for the cards!

I have over-committed myself to cookie exchanges. They're great in theory until you have to actually do the baking!

As well I've been travelling for almost the entire month and I'm gone next week for the entire week again. I'm getting nothing done fast... I want nothing more than to be at home and put my tree up and bake to relieve stress, not create it!

Happy Ho-Ho to me!

Okay, I'm not so smug anymore... my oldest just put the BBQ lighter to our tree. No one got hurt thankfully, but a branch is seriously mal-formed LOL
